Knitting my words together, 'twisting' and 'plaiting' my products and instructions together. This week I have been shredding book pages and attempting to knit with the strips of paper, after re-learning at the weekend the skill. I have plenty of examples of my knitting in cream wool, which goes from very wholly to nearly perfect! This all shows progression in my sketchbook.
Okay so knitting is my first skill, paper is my first material, I have planned that knitting will not be one of the four, as I knew how to do it already really, but was a good one to trial to start with. I have enjoyed it so far and have had some interesting results, have made a knitted page for my diary at least!
Which brings me to todays main idea!
Because I want my space to be full of things hanging (for aesthetics as well as to go with the project (inspiration everywhere)) I plan to hang my diary in a fixed 'open' position as well as display a time line. These will both visualise the progression I have taken through out this project, as well as another way of visualising the design process, how things come together on a day-to day basis.
I will have to create a strong criss-cross pattern at the top of my space to attach the hanging pieces, so it is not all close to the wall. From this my Diary will 'fall' with selected pages fixed in a 'fallen' position (hung) pages which have opening mechanisms of there own or use old envelopes and cards.
